From Paper Dinosaurs to a Superpower: Ottawa Business Journal Spotlights Michelle Weger
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve recently been featured in the Ottawa Business Journal in a piece titled “From paper dinosaurs to 100 stages, how Michelle Weger turned narcolepsy into a superpower.” It’s an incredible honor to have my journey highlighted in such a prominent publication.
The article dives deep into how my life with narcolepsy, a sleep disorder that impacts every aspect of my day-to-day, has become a strength rather than a setback. Instead of letting it limit me, I’ve chosen to use it as fuel for my goals and growth, both personally and professionally.
In the feature, I talk about my mission to speak on 100 stages, spreading awareness about narcolepsy and invisible disabilities while encouraging others to chase their dreams, no matter what obstacles they face. It’s been a long road, but my service dog, Quinn, has been with me every step of the way.
One of the key moments discussed in the article is the launch of my book, Don’t Snooze Your Dreams, which details my personal experiences and the creation of my DREAM method—an actionable guide to turning obstacles into opportunities. The book has become a bestseller, which still feels surreal, and it’s incredibly heartwarming to see how it’s helping others overcome their own challenges.
I’m grateful for the support I’ve received, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward, whether through my company, Venture Creative Collective, my speaking engagements, or advocacy work for invisible disabilities. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, and a big thank you to the Ottawa Business Journal for sharing my story!
