That is Quinn—my Quinn—in the arms of the #1 YouTuber on the planet, Mr. Beast!

If you aren’t one of his 316 MILLION YouTube subscribers, I guarantee your partner, best friend, or kids are (or maybe all of them!).

So, how did this happen? Let me tell you.

Last October, while I was giving a keynote speech at a Keap event in Florida, Quinn did something funny. It was caught on video, and when I posted it to TikTok, it blew up—3 million views!

I knew I had to ride the wave of that viral video, but I wasn’t sure how. So, I did what I always recommend in Step R of my DREAM method (from my #1 bestselling book, Don’t Snooze Your Dreams: Lessons From Life With Narcolepsy)—I found a role model.

Enter Elizabeth Young (CEO of Flowers Talk Tivoli and Elizabeth in Your Business), who was thriving on social media despite not being in a typical ‘influencer’ space.

Elizabeth patiently guided me through creating videos for TikTok and Instagram of Quinn living her best life: traveling on planes, doing dog sports, using buttons to talk—you name it.

The videos were fun and would get a few thousand views. I was learning and making progress (DREAM Method Step E: Escalate).

Then, something shocking happened!

I got an email from a producer for Mr. Beast. I was equal parts shocked, excited, and skeptical—sure it had to be fake. But after some quick internet sleuthing, I realized it was the real deal. No way!!

They were looking for a very special Great Dane with a unique set of skills. And I had that Great Dane.

We were hired! But just a few days before filming, the shoot was canceled. I was disappointed.

Then, my next few videos barely got a few hundred views. Self-doubt crept in—I started to fear I wasn’t good enough. I got busy and used that as an excuse to stop posting. But let’s be real—it was an excuse. You can always make time for what’s important, and at the time, social media wasn’t important to me. I didn’t enjoy it, and I was worried I wasn’t good enough at it, so I stopped. Bad move.

But then I couldn’t avoid it any longer. My book was about to launch, and I knew I couldn’t make an impact (which was the whole reason for writing it) without getting back on social media.

So, I started posting again. And guess what?

I got another message from that same producer! “Can you fly to Toronto, and how does Quinn feel about getting picked up?”

Days later, we were on set with Mr. Beast and a crew of professional dog actors, all cast to match Quinn’s fur color.

In perfect timing, my book was released on Amazon five days early—the same day we were filming with Mr Beast!! It hit #1 bestseller in its first category while we were on set that day.

Here’s the lesson: my book is about overcoming fear and doing hard things to make your dreams come true. And I wouldn’t have been on that set if I hadn’t followed my own advice—posting social media content, even when I was afraid people wouldn’t like it.

The moral? Don’t let fear or doubt stop you from going for things—you never know what opportunities might be waiting around the corner.
