Awards like this matter because they show others like you what is possible for them.
I am so proud to be included in the selection of trailblazing women for this year’s award and so grateful to the incredible people in my life who make things like this possible. I cannot imagine where I would be without my amazing family, dedicated team, savvy business mentor, and supportive (and handsome!) husband!
There are around 114,000 small and medium sized business in Canada that employ at least 1 person.
Of those, only 15.7% are owned by women.
Even fewer are owned by women under 35.
Guess how few are owned by young women with disabilities?
One of the very few is our CEO, Michelle Weger.
Her dedication to her craft has led her to build a multi-six figure website development and business process automation company that employs 6 people full time. Michelle’s entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering commitment to helping other small businesses to grow was one of the reasons she was the youngest person to win the 40 Under 40 Award last year.
Accomplishing these feats at such a young age is monumental in and of itself, but Michelle has climbed to the top of the industry while living with narcolepsy.
This year Michelle adds a new honour to her resume: RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award nominee.
This award is dedicated to Canadian women who have demonstrated excellence in economic growth and social change. It is easy to see why Michelle was nominated; her commitment to exceeding expectations and her relentless pursuit of innovative ideas make her the perfect nominee for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award. We couldn’t be prouder!
